This is a full-time, onsite position based in The Rocks, Sydney, NSW. Athena Home Loans is reimagining home lending with innovative tools and customer-first products. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will safeguard systems, respond to incidents, and ensure regulatory compliance across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security controls across cloud and on-premise infrastructure
  • Monitor security events and respond to incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits for home lending systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices
  • Maintain compliance with financial services regulations and standards

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, threat modeling, and incident response
  • Experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Understanding of financial services compliance and data protection regulations
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly regarded
