Role overview
Hiive is transforming the private market liquidity landscape by connecting institutional buyers, sellers, and issuers of venture-backed company shares. As Engineering Lead, you'll architect and scale the platform that enables transparent secondary transactions in pre-IPO companies. The role requires strategic technical leadership to maintain institutional-grade reliability and performance.
This position reports to the CTO and works closely with product, operations, and compliance teams to execute the technical vision. The ideal candidate will have experience building high-availability systems in a regulated financial environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for core platform development
- Design and implement scalable architecture for institutional-grade trading systems
- Oversee system reliability, security, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering best practices
Requirements
- 7+ years leading engineering teams in SaaS or financial technology environments
- Proven experience with distributed systems architecture and microservices
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in financial services
- Strong track record in mentoring technical talent
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
