Role overview
Pro4all's VeiligWerk division develops safety-critical software for construction professionals. As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll build scalable systems to help 200,000+ workers report incidents, conduct inspections, and maintain safety protocols across the Netherlands.
Our platform serves industry leaders like Heijmans and Dura Vermeer, with a focus on intuitive workflows for toolbox meetings and real-time risk assessments. You'll collaborate with a 15-person team in Weesp to deliver mission-critical software where safety is the top priority.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-availability backend systems for safety reporting platforms
- Implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services with Node.js and TypeScript
- Optimize database performance using PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate safety workflows
- Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers
Requirements
- 5+ years professional Node.js development experience
- Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and NoSQL database systems
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
