GHGSat is seeking a Senior Space Mission Systems Specialist for a 12-month contract in Ottawa. This role supports the operation and optimization of satellite-based greenhouse gas detection systems. You will work with cutting-edge remote sensing technologies, managing mission-critical infrastructure that delivers high-resolution emissions data to industrial and government clients worldwide.

This is a Full-time, 12-month contract position based in Ottawa, Ontario. The role is Onsite. Salary details are available in the employer description. The ideal candidate has deep experience in space mission operations, satellite systems engineering, and cloud-based data infrastructure supporting real-time analytics and global monitoring platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor satellite constellation and ground segment systems
  • Coordinate mission planning, scheduling, and data acquisition workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time mission operations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance
  • Support integration of satellite, aircraft, and third-party sensor data

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in space mission operations or satellite systems
  • Strong knowledge of remote sensing, telemetry, and ground station operations
  • Proficiency in Python, cloud platforms, and data processing pipelines
  • Experience with mission planning software and orbital mechanics
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
