Role overview

CoSA VFX INC is seeking a highly skilled AI VFX Technical Director to lead the architecture and implementation of their generative video pipeline. In this senior role, you will define the technical direction for integrating AI tools across various high-end episodic and feature film productions, ensuring the studio remains at the forefront of visual effects technology.

Job details

This is a full-time, fully remote position based in Canada. This is not an internship. The salary range for this role is 65,000 CAD to 180,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own the architecture of the generative AI pipeline for VFX production.
  • Develop custom tooling to integrate generative video into existing studio workflows.
  • Set the technical direction for AI adoption across multiple high-end shows.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to optimize AI-driven visual effects.
  • Research and implement emerging AI models to improve production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical Director or Pipeline Engineer in a VFX environment.
  • Deep technical knowledge of generative AI and machine learning frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and pipeline integration tools.
  • Experience with high-end episodic or feature film production workflows.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, senior-level ownership role.
