This is a remote contract position based in the UK. The role is a Full-time contract for a 12-month programme and is not an internship. The salary range for this position is £122,200 to £127,400 GBP per annum, based on a daily rate of £490 inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of secure and scalable Java-based digital services.
- Ensure all technical deliverables align with the Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle from architectural design to deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement user-centric digital transformation goals.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain high engineering standards.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience as a Lead or Senior Full Stack Developer specializing in Java.
- Proven track record of delivering scalable digital services within a public sector or regulated environment.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance.
- Deep understanding of GDS service standards and user-centric design principles.
- Strong expertise in modern Java frameworks and frontend integration technologies.
