This is a full-time, remote position based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK or Ireland. The Senior Java Backend Developer will work with Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle databases, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging technologies. Salary range is up to £60,000 GBP plus 5% bonus. You will contribute to a leading payment processing platform serving merchants globally, with autonomy and responsibility from day one.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services for a global payments platform
- Build scalable REST APIs and asynchronous messaging systems
- Work with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Oracle databases
- Own features end-to-end with high autonomy and accountability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple regions
Requirements
- 4+ years of Java backend development experience
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Hibernate frameworks
- Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
- Proficiency in building REST APIs and asynchronous messaging
- Ability to work independently in a remote, high-trust environment
