This is a full-time, Senior-level Backend Development role based remotely in County Antrim, Northern Ireland (Remote work available across UK/Ireland). The position offers real ownership from day one, working with Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle databases, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging technologies. Salary range: £55,000-£60,000 GBP plus bonus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable Java backend services for global payment processing
- Develop REST APIs and asynchronous messaging systems using Spring Boot
- Work with Oracle databases and Hibernate ORM for data persistence
- Take full ownership of features from design through deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a high-autonomy environment
Requirements
- Senior-level Java development experience with Spring Boot framework
- Strong knowledge of Hibernate, Oracle, and relational databases
- Proven experience building REST APIs and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with payment systems or fintech domains preferred
