Coder is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the AI Governance team. In this role, you will help shape the future of AI governance for developer tooling by building and maintaining enterprise-grade components. You will focus on developing the AI Gateway and Agent Firewall to ensure secure, audited, and cost-effective LLM integration for organizations.

This is a Full-time position based in the US. The role is Remote, allowing you to contribute to the AI governance stack from anywhere in the country. This is not an Internship. The offered salary range for this position is 70,000 USD to 95,000 USD.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the AI Gateway to manage traffic between coding agents and LLM providers.
- Implement audit trails and token tracking to provide organizations with full visibility into AI usage.
- Build and optimize the Agent Firewall to secure agent interactions and enforce governance policies.
- Collaborate with the AI Governance team to scale enterprise-grade components of the Coder stack.
- Integrate centralized authentication and cost control mechanisms within the AI infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on backend systems or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
- Ability to design and implement secure API gateways and middleware.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security requirements and audit logging.
- Experience working with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
