Role overview

Sanderson Government and Defence is seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead to join a central government client in Central London. This role focuses on delivering innovative digital, data, and AI solutions that provide significant public impact. You will be responsible for shaping and scaling emerging technologies, guiding projects from the initial Proof of Concept stage through to full production deployment in a high-trust environment.

Job details

This is a Contract position based in The City, Central London, offering a Remote work mode. This role is not an Internship. The salary range for this position is £156,000 to £182,000 GBP per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of cutting-edge digital and AI solutions for central government.
  • Drive the evolution of emerging technologies from early Proof of Concept to production.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet public service requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Active UKSV SC Clearance is mandatory for this position.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Architect in a complex environment.
  • Strong background in delivering scalable digital, data, or AI-driven applications.
  • Experience working within government frameworks or highly regulated sectors.
  • Ability to lead technical strategy and execute delivery in a remote or hybrid setting.
